Course Description

VCE English as an Additional Language (EAL) supports students in developing advanced skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking through the study of texts, argument, and personal expression. Aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, it explores how language shapes meaning, identity, and communication for learners from diverse linguistic backgrounds.

The course places particular emphasis on building confidence in analytical and creative writing. Students engage with a wide range of sample responses, structured essay templates, and quote banks to strengthen their ability to interpret and respond to texts. Creative writing tasks are crafted to be personal and purposeful, helping students connect their ideas with clarity and impact.
